They were following too close. You are supposed to keep a safe distance so you can avoid the car in front no matter what happens. What if some kid had run out in front of you and you hammered on your brakes... the person behind is always at fault in a rear-end collision as far as I know. Well, actually I think there might be a way to get out of it..... There was this *slight* hill down to a light when I was in college and we had an ice storm. This car slid slowly into the car in front. A cop came to take a report and he couldn't stop and slid into the 2nd car, lol. It was all in like ultra-slow motion, like only 1 or 2 miles an hour. Was stupid-slippery out, the kind where you can't even stand up, and if you fall you can't get enough grip to stand back up.... Not sure who gets the ticket in a case like that. Maybe everyone does for being dumb enough to be out on the ice, lol. Mike
